There is an undo for painters! It’s called a rag, and dabbing a stray spill away happens on all but the most wet paintings! Even those can sometimes be rescued! Yay? Without an undo button, random strokes it puts in my art are extremely frustrating. So it finally loads, and it only crashes on about 1/3 paintings. I have some ideas that would make this a 5 star gameĢ- make it so that the colours and instruments have to be bought with moneyģ- pls add a fast forward button because I don’t want to delete my paintings and I don’t want to wait so much until someone buys the paintingsĤ- let there be people that steals your painting and make it so that you can buy cameras and guards (in exchange for money), this would make sense since the paintings are unprotected and free to everyone to touch and do everything they want with them.ĥ- add like a baguette bar and a wine bar so that you have to buy baguette and wine more frequently and be able to see when you need to drink or eatĦ- adding posters to the shop to boost attention for the people and popularity plsħ- make events you could attend like art events and stuff where you could promote your art and sell itĨ- let me put some decoration on that street, it looks very sad :( Includes an amazing soundtrack by our favourite groovin' dinosaurs Synkronosaurus Experience the French art world through a living puppet theater! I’m young, but I have learned to stand up for myself against my parents (mostly my mom) but it doesn’t help the family at all, it just makes them even more mad. My mom will not believe me and won’t give me my $5 back and will probably get mad at me for just telling the truth. I have seen people play the game and it looks great! Flowlayout resize4/19/2023 This allows a layout algorithm to be reused for several applications, while simplifying your application code. Rather than building the layout algorithms into your code and watching for window resizing and other layout-modifying events, the algorithm is kept separate. (I had a student from Germany who started laughing when I showed that button and told me what it meant…)Ī layout manager encapsulates an algorithm for positioning and sizing of GUI components. The user doesn’t see the entire phrase, but even worse….Auf Wiedersehen gets chopped to the much smaller Wieder. The programmer didn’t give much thought to translations into other languages… For example:Ī simple button to end an application. However, most words have varying lengths depending on which language you are using. “No” is a good example, as it’s spelled that way in several languages. Some words take up the same amount of space in different languages. Switching font sizes will have a similar effect.Ĭomponents Designed for a Specific Language Notice that the MotifLookAndFeeluses a wider, empty border around the buttons, causing some undesirable drawing effects. The following picture shows the above GUI under the MotifLookAndFeelof the JFC Project Swing technology without using a layout manager: Unfortunately, the programmer who wrote this application used absolute positioning and sizing, so the components in the dialog do not expand:Īfter reporting this behavior, the developer realizes the error that has been committed and changes the GUI to resize properly:Ĭomponents Designed for a Specific Look-And-Feel or Font SizeĪnother common problem is expecting all platforms or LookAndFeel libraries (when using Java Foundation Classes (JFC) Project Swing technology) to have the same sizing characteristics. In the hopes of seeing the entire name at once, you could expand the dialog horizontally. For example, in the initial display of a screen, the name entered is rather long, so it doesn’t quite fit in the text field such that all is visible at once: Non-resizable GUIs can be extremely frustrating. However, some users have much more screen real estate and want to take advantage of it. The most common display size is probably still 640x480, so it’s a good idea to make sure your application fits on that size screen. The first layout sin is to ignore a user-resize. These describe several_GUI sins_that are all too common: To describe why layout managers are necessary, all you need to do is examine a few of the problems they solve. This module will explore in great detail how the standard Abstract Window Toolkit (AWT) layout managers perform their jobs and how they can be effectively nested to create useful graphical user interfaces (GUIs). I used the Wayback Machine to retrieve it and post it here) (I wrote this article for the Sun Java Developer Connection website around 1998 and is no longer available. Unequal pupil size in infants4/19/2023 Other medicines that get in the eyes, including medicine from asthma inhalers, can change pupil size. Causes The use of eye drops is a common cause of a harmless change in pupil size. The presence of anisocoria can be normal (physiologic), or it can be a sign of an underlying medical condition. In many people, the size of the pupils is the same in each eye, and both pupils will become smaller or bigger to let light in at the same time. When light is shined in the abnormal eye and it remains dilated then it’s a pathological small pupil. Unequal pupil sizes of more than 1 mm that develop later in life and do NOT return to equal size may be a sign of an eye, brain, blood vessel, or nerve disease. Anisocoria is a term which refers to the pupils being different sizes. When detected during childhood, without any other symptoms and when other disorders are discarded through clinical tests, it should be considered a developmental or genetic phenomenon.Īsymmetric pupil or dyscoria, potential causes of anisocoria, refer to an abnormal shape of the pupil which can happens due to developmental and intrauterine anomalies. The presence of physiologic anisocoria has been estimated at 20% of the normal population, so some degree of pupil difference may be expected in at least 1 in 5 clinic patients. A normal population survey showed that during poor light or near dark conditions, differences of 1 mm on average between pupils was found. It can also occur as the difference between both pupils varies from day to day. At any given eye examination, up to 41% of healthy patients can show an anisocoria of 0.4 mm or more at one time or another. Anisocoria, also called Adies tonic pupil or Adie syndrome, is described as uneven pupil size. The main characteristic that distinguishes physiological anisocoria is an increase of pupil size with lower light or reduced illumination, such that the pupils differ in size between the two eyes. The prevalence of physiological anisocoria has not been found to be influenced by the sex, age, or iris color of the subject. The difference in pupil size will be less than or equal to 1 mm, and the condition may be intermittent, persistent, or self-resolving. This particular type can affect up to 20 of the population. It is generally considered to be benign, though it must be distinguished from Congenital Horner's syndrome, pharmacological dilatation or other conditions connected to the sympathetic nervous system. Simple anisocoria (otherwise known as physiologic or essential) is the most frequent cause of uneven pupil sizes. We observed variation between observed pupil size and that expected based on brain death determination guidelines.Īnoxia Brain death, Pupil size, Pupillometry.Physiological anisocoria is when human pupils differ in size. This is the first study in the literature objectively evaluating pupil sizes in infants, children and adults diagnosed with brain death. Paediatric pupils were larger than adult pupils (right pupil 5.53 vs 4.73 mm p: 0.018 left pupil 5.87 vs 4.77 mm P: 0.03), and there was no correlation of pupil size with temperature or increasing number of vasopressors. Median right and left pupil sizes were 5.01 ± 0.85 mm and 5.12 ± 0.87 mm, respectively, with a range between 3.69 and 7.34 mm. Iris transillumination or loss of iris surface architecture can be telling signs. 98 In less severe cases, iris hypoplasia may be subtle and the pupil may be round and normal-sized. Vision, eye movements, fundi, and general examination were normal. Median, minimum and maximum pupil sizes were documented and the results were adjudicated for age, vasopressor use and temperature. Gonioscopy or ultrasound biomicroscopy may help detect a residual iris stump. Case: A 10-month-old female infant was referred to the Neuro-ophthalmology clinic at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for a new-onset lid ptosis and pupillary miosis on the right side. Pupils were measured with a quantitative pupillometer (Forsite Neuroptics, Irvine, CA, USA). Infants, children and adults diagnosed with brain death were included in the study. There are no studies in the literature that quantitatively assess pupil size in brain dead children and adults. Evaluation of pupil size and non-reactivity is a requisite for determination of brain death. The determination of brain death in neonates, infants, children and adults relies on a clinical diagnosis based on the absence of neurological function with a known irreversible cause of brain injury. Creating an SVG picture out of a flat bitmap can be a daunting task. Many times, icon design takes place in the bitmap world. Support in RealFaviconGeneratorĬreating this icon can be more challenging than usual. So it should probably be the dominant color of your original icon or logo to make it consistent with your site. When the tab is active, Safari uses the theme color. When the tab is not selected, Safari renders the icon in grey. The icon is completed by a “theme color”. Unlike most favicon-related images, this new icon comes with design requirements. Which Safari does when a tab is rolled over or selected. But it is probably easier to play with colors with a vector image. I’m not sure Apple chose it for its scaling ability. For (arguably) the first time in favicon (and derivatives) history, a vector format is used instead of a classic bitmap format, usually PNG. No, Apple didn’t recycle one of the numerous existing icons, such as its famous Touch icon for iOS. RealFaviconGenerator lets you design yours in seconds. The feature itself is not new, but Safari makes it really neat (at 0:48). Safari comes with pinned tabs, a cool feature to keep some sites around. I have been trying to contact them for about 3 months. It is problematic to use the spaces for images because they present some invisible zones that make half of your images invisible in the display, and there is nobody to ask for support. It has a lot of problems with using fonts, even the fonts they themselves have issued in their example newsletters. The platform for support only provides information about how to pay. No access to your own account information. This tool was also so versatile, so happy with the idea of it. The price was excellent, because it was a one time payment. It look pretty good, although the biggest problem was the font. In prior versions, I was able to create newsletters and send them to my clients directly from my Mac Mail. So you have no idea what your id number is, and it is totally impossible to get support or write them an email, because you lack of the basic information about your account. They also have a very bizarre payment system, and it is impossible for you to access to your account. It is frustrating because I saw lots of potential with this tool, I was happy with the first version, and now I feel trapped and cheated. the only chance to find information would be visiting them in Germany. And if you try to find out the company's telephone number it is totally non existent. The tutorials and available information is insufficient. I have been trying to contact the costumer service for about 3 months, and once I got a generic email, and then total silence. Some new features are better, however, now you are forced to use Chimp mail to send your newsletters, even if you do not want to. It is a nightmare, the price is 10 times more expensive, the options with Mac Mail are not present anymore, they say Mac Mail does not support this type of solutions, so we are busted and they did not inform the setbacks, until you go crazy trying to make the system work then you go crazy. Torchlight 2 character editor4/18/2023 You might kill a phase beast and enter a pocket-sized challenge stage, or stumble across a hidden side quest that stretches across the whole game. You might kill a sprite who drops a golden key, then go looking for the chest it opens. The campaign is randomised from the overworld down, remixing environments and sprinkling them with events that keep the pace up even as you go about the busywork of map clearance. In terms of features, Torchlight II has tremendous scope. Offline play, six player co-op (both online and over LAN) and full mod support are all present, and Steam Cloud support enables the game to benefit from the best bits of modern online integration. Other aspects are much more gratefully received. In a year where multiple RPGs have figured out that freedom to change your mind actually results in more interesting decisions, not less, this aspect of Torchlight II's design sticks out as an unwelcome manifestation of its early noughties influences. Certainly, it's a system where decisions have consequences: it's just that those consequences are a needless waste of time. If I want her to be perfect I either need to start again or wait for the inevitable respec mod, and both feel like a compromise. This effectively prevents shifts in direction at high levels: even though I've built a character I like, I can't change her - and my skill trees are littered with discarded investments. Unfortunately, Torchlight II limits your ability to respec to undoing the last three skill decisions you made. In the long term, however, there's a lot of scope for cleverness and creativity. The system is over reliant, as many action-RPGs are, on incrementing your power by tiny percentages every time you spend a point and each individual level up can feel inconsequential as a result. Instead, new skills open up as you level, allowing for greater dabbling as you progress. Unlike the original Torchlight, you don't need to invest points in a skill tree to unlock its late-game potential. The two are linked: attributes determine the relative power of your weapon and magic damage, for example, impacting the usefulness of the skills you may choose to invest in. Levelling grants you points to spend on attribute boosts and new skills. I arrived at the Embermage through a process of experimentation: given the game's hundred levels of character advancement, I recommend you do the same before committing. They're a varied bunch, although the game struggles to communicate precisely how different they are before you start playing. The Engineer is a tank that can specialise in heavy weapons or sword-and-shield durability, with the option of swapping out for a massive handheld cannon and an army of robotic pets. The Berserker channels spirit animals to augment melee attacks, buffing allies and debuffing foes to build an advantage. Character emerges as you settle on a playstyle: I'm a stationary death vortex now, but I could have specced differently - a teleporting, sword-wielding warrior mage, perhaps.īesides the Embermage, the other predominantly ranged character is the Outlander: a mobile weapons platform specialising in guns, glaives, and debilitating magic. You're chasing down the villainous Alchemist - one of the original game's protagonists - for reasons that nobody in the game sounds especially concerned about. Your place in Torchlight II's plot is circumstantial: you're a hero, and that's about it. By and large, though, the character I've made worked in act one and she's still working a campaign and a bit later. I think you've met.Īs the difficulty rises, it's sometimes necessary to tinker with the machinery: to invest in new skills, or alter the opening moves of my combat rotation. When this happens I summon a duplicate of myself, just because I can. Every point of damage I do fills my charge bar, which ultimately reduces the casting cost of all my spells to zero. My firestorm plants a fire vulnerability on enemies that my columns of flame capitalise on, explosively. I have a passive ability that randomly teleports attackers further away. My wands cast random spells when I kill an enemy. As an action-RPG, the worst thing about Torchlight II is the way that loot, skill choice and chance bubbles over into a fountain of light and treasure at the whiff of a right-click, in the exact same way, for as long as you can keep going.Īfter more than 20 hours I've built my Embermage into a machine for the consumption and processing of monsters. As an action-RPG, the best thing about Torchlight II is the way that loot, skill choice and chance bubbles over into a fountain of light and treasure at the whiff of a right-click, every single time, for as long as you can keep going. Amphibia shut in4/18/2023 The vertebrae were complex and not particularly strong, consisting of numerous, often poorly ossified elements. The skull had prominent otic notches behind each eye and a parietal eye. The sole exception were the chisel-like teeth of some of the advanced herbivorous diadectomorphs. The teeth were replaced in waves that traveled from the front of the jaw to the back in such a way that every other tooth was mature, and the ones in between were young. Their jaws were lined with small, sharp, conical teeth and the roof of the mouth bore larger tusk-like teeth. The broad head and short neck may have been a result of respiratory constraints. With the exception of the snake-like aïstopods, the skulls of labyrinthodonts were massive. Reconstruction of Branchiosaurus, a temnospondyl tadpole or paedomorph form with external gills The relative development and shape of the elements is highly variable. Complex vertebrae made of multiple components: an intercentrum (wedge-shaped front lower piece), two pleurocentra (upper rear piece), and a vertebral arch/spine (upper projection). In later terrestrial forms such as Seymouria, it may possibly have held a tympanic membrane (eardrum). In earlier fully aquatic forms such as Ichthyostega, it may have formed an open spiracle. Otic notch behind each eye at the back edge of the skull. With the exception of the later more reptile-like forms, the skull was rather flat and strongly ornamented with presumably tough dermal covering, accounting for an older term for the group: "Stegocephalia". Massive skull roof, with openings only for the nostrils, eyes and a parietal eye, similar to the structure of the " anapsid" reptiles. The cross section resembles a classical labyrinth (or maze), hence the name of the group. Strongly folded tooth surface, involving infolding of the dentin and enamel of the teeth.Particularly the early forms exhibited a lot of variation, yet there are still a few basic anatomical traits that make their fossils very distinct and easily recognizable in the field: The labyrinthodonts flourished for more than 200 million years. Many authors prefer to simply use the term tetrapod, while others have re-defined the previously obsolete term Stegocephalia ("roof heads") as a cladistic alternative to "Labyrinthodontia" or "Tetrapoda". However, some have continued to use the group in their classifications, at least informally, pending more detailed study of their relationships. "Labyrinthodonts" generally have complex multi-part vertebrae, and several classification schemes have utilized vertebrae to define subgroups.īecause labyrinthodonts do not form a monophyletic group, many modern researchers have abandoned the term. They are also distinguished by a broad, strongly-built skull roof composed of many small heavily-textured skull bones. The name describes the pattern of infolding of the dentin and enamel of the teeth, which are often the only part of the creatures that fossilize. "Labyrinthodont" generally refers to extinct four-limbed tetrapods with a large body size and a crocodile-like lifestyle. "Labyrinthodont"-grade vertebrates evolved from lobe-finned fishes in the Devonian, though a formal boundary between fish and amphibian is difficult to define at this point in time. Instead, they consistute an evolutionary grade (a paraphyletic group), ancestral to living tetrapods such as lissamphibians (modern amphibians) and amniotes ( reptiles, mammals, and kin). Traditionally considered a subclass of the class Amphibia, modern classification systems recognize that labyrinthodonts are not a formal natural group ( clade) exclusive of other tetrapods. "Labyrinthodontia" ( Greek, 'maze-toothed') is an informal grouping of extinct predatory amphibians which were major components of ecosystems in the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras (about 390 to 150 million years ago).
